I just returned from an awesome three days at the Fall 2019 Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) conference in Las Vegas. It was a privilege to rub elbows with top minds in the wound care industry and attend several courses designed to help me continue to learn, refine, and validate my wound care knowledge. My SAWC experience will help continue WCA’s mission to be the best partner to our clients and, more importantly, help heal and support patients in the best way possible.
This year, my SAWC course topics included: Healing Atypical Wounds, Advanced Modalities and Dressings, Staying on Top of Government Regulations, and How To Get Paid in the Outpatient Wound Care Center. In addition to the classes, a busy exhibit hall was filled with vendors, representatives, and manufacturers providing hands-on demonstrations and education. It was a terrific three days. I attended and participated in a community event called "First Course," at Hutchinson where the Medical Director and Program Director gave talks on the link between diabetes and chronic wounds.
