We’re kicking off our first monthly partner spotlight with Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital as it puts the finishing touches on its newly renovated outpatient wound care services facility in Santa Clarita, California.
With seven patient rooms and thirteen specialists on staff including board-certified physicians and podiatrists, wound care nurses and a certified hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) technician, the new center is in a unique position to offer a full suite of highly specialized wound care services to the local community.
Two new HBO chambers are the first and only machines of their kind in the Santa Clarita Valley, giving area residents with problem wounds much easier access to treatment. Before, they would often have to travel an hour or more several times a week for HBO therapy.
According to Donna Ferguson, director of outpatient services for Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, the new center is a big win for the community, especially for patients suffering from problem wounds associated with diabetes and vascular insufficiency.
“Under the leadership of our program manager, Ayda Rezaimalek, our team takes a highly specialized and customized approach to treating wounds that are resistant to innate healing and brings gold standard services right into our community,” said Ferguson. “Our partnership with the management team at Wound Care Advantage allows us to further our goal to improve each patient’s quality of life through personalized care and efficient healing.”
